- Low needs five unpaired ranks, all eight or below.
From first card to final reveal.
- Prepare. Use 52 cards; agree ante, bring-in and fixed limits.
No blinds.
- Third street. Ante; deal two down and one up each.
Lowest upcard brings in. Tied rank: clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades, low first.
- Fourth street. Burn; deal one upcard each. Bet.
Highest exposed hand begins. Lower bet applies even with an open pair.
- Fifth street. Burn; deal another upcard. Bet.
Larger fixed bets start here.
- Sixth street. Burn; deal another upcard. Bet.
Highest exposed hand still starts.
- Seventh street. Burn; deal final card down. Bet.
If insufficient cards remain, give everyone one shared face-up final card instead.
- Find high and low. Pick any five for high; separately find five distinct ranks eight or below.
Aces low; straights and flushes ignored for low.
- Award the pot. High and best qualifying low split; with no low, high takes all.
