CLEAR RULES. A CONFIDENT FIRST HAND.
Deal Along.
Read the step. Watch it happen. Bring the game to your own table.
Before you deal · 3–9 players
Conservative single-deck ceiling: nine players. Reserve 3n private cards plus 3 initial indicators plus up to 3(n−2) refresh cards: at n=9, 51 cards. Sixteen seats would not leave enough cards for this format.
Use a 52-card pack without printed jokers. Pick a dealer, seat everyone and read the deck note below. Use practice counters. This guide reserves enough fresh indicators for every possible exit. Its supported maximum is nine players.
Agree the opening contribution, limits and tie rules before the first hand. Use practice counters while learning.
This guide’s sequence convention: A-2-3 highest, then A-K-Q. Some tables reverse these two. For wilds, rank aces high when identifying a highest or lowest printed card. Natural and wild-assisted equal hands have no automatic priority.

STEP 1 / AT YOUR TABLE
Deal three cards each.
- Collect the agreed opening contribution (boot) from everyone.
- Shuffle and offer a cut.
- Deal clockwise, one card at a time, until each player has three face-down cards.
- Keep the undealt packet separate.
Explain more
Shuffle first. Deal one card to each person in turn, then go round again. Do not add burn cards or replacements; this capacity calculation reserves only the cards described in the deck note.
